The thieves crashed, as well, before bailing out of an Audi reported stolen out of Alpine, Fairview Police Martin Kahn said.
North Bergen officers helped grab two suspects, who were being processed at Fairview police headquarters early Friday evening, the chief said.
The pursuit began at Fairview and Anderson avenues after a license plate check showed the vehicle stolen, Kahn said.
The female Fairview officer was backing up her colleague when her cruiser collided with a Hyundai Tucson in front of North Bergen High School on Kennedy Boulevard at 76th Street. She was taken to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck.
Two West New York women who were inside the Tucson were treated for their injuries and released, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
The first Fairview officer continued chasing the stolen Audi for nearly 30 more blocks before it crashed into an SUV at 44th Street. The driver of that vehicle refused medical attention.
Two occupants of the stolen car tried to run but were caught, Kahn said.
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office was investigating the police-involved crash under state Attorney General guidelines.
North Bergen police were handling charges involving the other crash at 44th Street.
